christina-enroth-david-cugell-fellowship.jpgThe Christina Enroth-Cugell and David Cugell Fellowship for Visual Neuroscience and Biomedical Engineering provides funding for tuition and a stipend for PhD graduate students working in a research area of vision or ophthalmology, especially those pursuing a doctoral degree in biomedical engineering. The expected start date is September 1 each year.

Eligibility

Eligible students will be:

Both domestic and international students are eligible. Underrepresented minority students are especially encouraged to apply.

Application Contents

  1. Applicant CV
  2. One half-page (maximum) description of the PhD project
  3. One paragraph description of how the funding will expand vision research at Northwestern (e.g., launch or expand a research collaboration in vision, provide preliminary data for a new vision-related grant application, permit an existing investigator to pursue or support a new project in vision)

Application Window

Applications will be accepted annually in the spring, and are currently being accepted through May 31st.  

Awardee Expectations

All awardees are required to attend all the sessions of the NU Advanced Topics in Vision series and are expected to present their research progress every one or two years.

All awardees are required to acknowledge the support from this fellowship in conferences and publications.
